National Sanctuary inaugurates Wax Museum in honor of Nossa Senhora Aparecida

The opening program begins at 9am with a Mass presided by the Cardinal Archbishop of Aparecida Dom Raymundo Damasceno Assis.

After the celebration the authorities and invited guests will be able to know the newest tourist attraction offered to the devotees of the Mother Aparecida. The space of approximately six thousand square meters gathers 61 life-size statues, divided in 20 different scenarios, that go back to the history of faith and devotion to Our Lady.

The pieces depict facts and events from the encounter of the image in the waters of the Paraíba River, through the miracles attributed to Santa, to the most recent moments of this trajectory.

In the tour full of sensory effects, the visitor is taken to a trip in time, knowing the historical, political and religious personalities, who had their life linked to the image of the Saint.

The statues made in size were produced by specialized ateliers and portray saints, popes, kings, nobles, presidents of the republic, religious, devotees and some contemporary names of this history.

The project is an initiative of the National Sanctuary in partnership with the company Rex Turismo, which has wax museums in the cities of Gramado-RS, Foz do Iguaçu-PR and Cancun, Mexico. The space is in the courtyard of the National Shrine, next to the Center of Support to the Romeiros.

The operation is from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, Saturdays from 7am to 7pm and Sundays and holidays from 7am to 6pm. The ticket costs R $ 24, with no limit to stay. There is a 50% discount for seniors, students and people with special needs.
